Job description
_At Cyberus Technology, we build and operate automated test systems on real hardware for internal use and customer solutions. Our focus is on making on-hardware tests reliable, deterministic, and operable at scale._ _We are looking for an_ _Infrastructure & Operations Engineer_ _to take operational ownership of our test automation infrastructure.
This ownership is firmly focused on stability and reliability, and the role involves_ _significant hands-on software development__, primarily in Rust, to continuously improve operability, observability, and automation. You will work as part of a small, highly practical team where building and operating the system go hand in hand._ ## Tasks * Operate, maintain, and continuously improve a bare-metal Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test infrastructure * Deploy and run a Rust-based control plane for reserving and remotely interacting with physical devices * Actively develop and improve Rust services where needed, especially around reliability, observability, and automation * Manage NixOS-based systems end-to-end: provisioning, updates, rollbacks * Integrate and automate hardware control (USB/serial, USB-OTG, power control, HDMI capture, networked devices) * Leverage existing tracing and metrics to improve monitoring, alerting, and system reliability ## Requirements * Strong Linux systems engineering background with hands-on production responsibility * Practical experience with Nix and NixOS (or strong motivation to work with it daily) * Comfortable reading, modifying, and extending Rust services in a production setting * Strong bias toward building predictable, debuggable, and maintainable systems * Experience with hardware-adjacent infrastructure beyond “just servers” * End-to-end mindset: you operate what you build, from metal to API * Enjoy working in a small team where everyone contributes across ops and development ## Benefits * An open-minded, creative, and lovely team * Drinks and fruit for free in our Office in Dresden * Modern facilities & work place, desks adjustable for height * A flexible work schedule * Home office (partially or permanently) * A family-friendly work environment * Attractive compensation and retirement plan * Time and resources for personal development We welcome and encourage applications from qualified professionals, irrespective of their gender, sexual orientation, disability status, religious beliefs or any other characteristic.
We look forward to receiving your application!
