_At Cyberus Technology, we build and operate automated test systems on real hardware for internal use and customer solutions. Our focus is on making on-hardware tests reliable, deterministic, and operable at scale._ _We are looking for an_ _Infrastructure & Operations Engineer_ _to take operational ownership of our test automation infrastructure.
This ownership is firmly focused on stability and reliability, and the role involves_ _significant hands-on software development__, primarily in Rust, to continuously improve operability, observability, and automation. You will work as part of a small, highly practical team where building and operating the system go hand in hand._ ## Tasks * Operate, maintain, and continuously improve a bare-metal Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test infrastructure * Deploy and run a Rust-based control plane for reserving and remotely interacting with physical devices * Actively develop and improve Rust services where needed, especially around reliability, observability, and automation * Manage NixOS-based systems end-to-end: provisioning, updates, rollbacks * Integrate and automate hardware control (USB/serial, USB-OTG, power control, HDMI capture, networked devices) * Leverage existing tracing and metrics to improve monitoring, alerting, and system reliability ## Requirements * Strong Linux systems engineering background with hands-on production responsibility * Practical experience with Nix and NixOS (or strong motivation to work with it daily) * Comfortable reading, modifying, and extending Rust services in a production setting * Strong bias toward building predictable, debuggable, and maintainable systems * Experience with hardware-adjacent infrastructure beyond “just servers” * End-to-end mindset: you operate what you build, from metal to API * Enjoy working in a small team where everyone contributes across ops and development ## Benefits * An open-minded, creative, and lovely team * Drinks and fruit for free in our Office in Dresden * Modern facilities & work place, desks adjustable for height * A flexible work schedule * Home office (partially or permanently) * A family-friendly work environment * Attractive compensation and retirement plan * Time and resources for personal development We welcome and encourage applications from qualified professionals, irrespective of their gender, sexual orientation, disability status, religious beliefs or any other characteristic.
